1. Choose furniture that is comfortable for you and your company. Quality furniture that won't break in a week. You want it to last! I always say, it's best to cry once than continuously cry and waste money.
2. Create different zones in your yard. A dining area, lounging area and sunbathing area. Separate the areas with greenery and outdoor area rugs. Make it cozy for entertaining. Planters with flowers to brighten the space. Accent cushions with pops of colour.
3. Outdoor ambiance. Create this with solar lanterns, battery operated candles, and or hanging light fixtures. If you have a pool, think of putting lighting in the pool with décor discs or balls.
4. Use solar lighting where the sun is brightest.
5. Dishes for outdoor space. You want to make sure if you are around a pool area you are using acrylic, bamboo or stainless steel. Material that is durable and won't break.
6. Create a stone walkway path. Have flowers and plants for an organic feel.
7. When creating a Firepit area, choose flagstone, pebble rock or stone tile. Purchase seating that is comfortable for sitting in for marshmallow roasting and storytelling time.
8. When creating privacy in your backyard consider cedar trees, ornamental grass, privacy fences, privacy screens, and layered decks.
9. Outdoor décor for your tables should be simple, waterproof, and shatterproof. These are the final touches to your outdoor living space.
10. Ask a designer for advice on what you can do with your outdoor living space to enhance it.
